The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has reacted after the appointment of incumbent Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi with Serbian chief negotiator Petar Petkovic.
The LDK says Bislimi does not enjoy any legitimate mandate to represent the Republic of Kosovo in dialogue with Serbia.
The announcement reportedly has concluded after the certificate of election results.
The LDK says Bislim is only a task leader, without democratic legitimacy and without parliamentary approval to make decisions in the dialogue process.
LDK's full communication:
The Democratic League of Kosovo has carefully conveyed today's trilateral meeting in Brussels in the midst of incumbent Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, Serbian chief negotiator Petkovic and EU Emissar for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. Peter Sorensen. The LDK considers that Mr. Bislimi enjoys no legitimate mandate to represent the Republic of Kosovo in dialogue with Serbia.
The mandate of the former government where Mr. Bislimi has been appointed chief negotiator by former Prime Minister Kurti has already ended with the Certificate of the 9 February election results. So, Mr. Bislimin is only task counsel, without democratic legitimacy and without parliamentary approval to make decisions in the dialogue process.
Negotiations with Serbia are issues of high state interest and cannot be developed by a government in office. Any eventual agreement or commitment undertaken at this stage will not be able to produce obligations for Kosovo. Mr. Bislimin to bring Kosovo into office without having legitimate and democratic mandates is unacceptable, unconstitutional and illegal.
The LDK requires that constitutional order and the will of citizens expressed in the elections be respected. Dialogue should continue only with new institutions, released by elections, with clear mandate and full representation./Periscopi/
