The LDK ends its boycott of RTK, Bajrami: We are returning to tell the truth, not because the situation has changed

The Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) has decided to end a several-month boycott of Kosovo Radio Television (RTK), stressing that its return to this medium does not imply reconciliation with the current situation, but it is an attempt to change it. This was announced by the MP, Hykmete N. Bajrami, through a post [...]
According to Bajrami, the LDK's boycott of RTK has been a protest form, as it called it, “the political capture of public television by the Vetevendosje Movement”. It charges current power with political appointments on board and management, violation of law and professional standards, and converting RTK into a propagandistic extension of power.
“RTK is in serious condition, subject to power, with reduced budgets and difficult working conditions. It already operates without board and with a director exercising the mandate illegally,” wrote Bajrami.
The LDK MP has stressed that her return to RTK through an interview tonight aims to speak to citizens directly, in a medium that, according to her, should serve them, not power.
We are returning to remind citizens that Vetevendosje has degraded this institution, as many others. We are returning to support professional journalists facing political pressures,” she said.
The LDK emphasises that RTK should remain only in public service. “Ay we will tell truths, without compromise,” completes Bajram's statement. /Periscope/
