Commercial Court suspends ZRE decision LBK requires clear transition plan
The League of Kosovo Businesses (LBK) reports that the Commercial Court in Pristina has made a decision to suspend the Energy Regulatory Office's announcement ( ZRGE) concerning the mandatory exit of businesses to the free electricity market.
The League of Kosovo Businesses now officially requires ZRE to completely suspend the decision on forced exit of businesses into the free energy market, as well as prevent any further action that could negatively affect their functioning.
The LBK considers this an important and necessary step to protect the interests of the local economy, especially in this difficult period for the private sector, where significant export decline and challenges are recorded for local producers.
The League of Kosovo Businesses now officially requires ZRE to completely suspend the decision on forced exit of businesses into the free energy market, as well as prevent any further action that could negatively affect their functioning.
At the same time, the LBK expresses readiness for close co-operation with all institutions and ZRE, in order to draw up a fair, well-planned and applicable transitional transition to the free market.
The LBK risks not against liberalising the energy market, but has repeatedly demanded that this process be realised with a clear, long-term plan for preparation, ensuring stability for Kosovo businesses and citizens.
The League of Kosovo Businesses and the Association of Producers, under the LBK, have consistently raised concerns about the negative impact of this decision and has called for its abolition, considering it hasty and harmful to local producers and businesses.
