Krasniqi at the PDK Convention: Our cause is Kosovo, mobilize for new victories

The Democratic Party of Kosovo is holding the General Convention, eleven in a row, where the party chairman and the new chairmanship will be elected.

The only candidate for PDK chairman is current chairman Memli Krasniqi.

Addressing the delegates present, Krasniqi said this convention is called for continuing the path of unity and empowerment, as they passed all challenges from Thaci's and Veselin's going to The Hague, came out to win local elections in 2021, and received about 200 thousand votes in the February 9th elections with Bedri Hamza candidate for prime minister.

This warrant is over, but it's not. The PDK is on the rise, and growth requires stability. We are preparing for victory, and victory requires unity. Therefore, I request your support to continue as your Chairman and the challenges we face. Not for position, but for mission. Not for ourselves, but for the way we should follow together. Because the work ahead: victory in local elections, leadership of the future government, economic recovery, strengthening the state, turning Kosovo into serious international partners, cannot wait. And we have to be the ones who lead the”, he said.

Krasniqi stressed that for four years, The PDK was established, joined in the network of European and global families of liberal-democratic parties, organised the 50/50 Convention for the empowerment and inclusion of women in decision making, empowered Kosovo's Democratic Youth, where today its head Arbnor is MP.

We don't just talk about the future. We want to design the future. We have been the voice of discretion and responsibility in the Kosovo Assembly. We've been dialogue when possible, and we've disputed when necessary. But we have never compromised our principles. We have brought down a large number of laws at the Constitutional Court, which violated public interest, workers, families and the Republic of Kosovo itself. But we achieved the greatest success on February 9th: Returning pluralism to Kosovo, we saved the Republic from monism and from the one-party rule”, he stressed.

Krasniqi said that when Kosovo and the PDK walk together, there is only one direction, ahead.

Krasniqi said that in the 12 October Local Elections, The PDK is not only racing to regain municipalities it currently runs, but to win several more in a row.

“Bendri Hamza, Agim Aliu, Shacir Totaj, Fadil Nura, Ramiz Ladrovci, Ferit Idrizi, Besim Ilazi, Mehmeti Ballzhi, but also Izmir Zeqiri and Ilir Peci have become champions of good governance around Kosovo: From South to North and East to West! They are champions of development, transparency and results, confirmed and rewarded for this. Now, I understand there's a time when each political person, for one reason or another, feels that the time has come to create space for the new generation. And, of course, for them, we will always have just gratitude and thanks, which have dignified the identity of the Democratic Party of Kosovo. But we also pledge together here that we will all work without stopping to support our candidates and candidates in this autumn's elections, with the conviction that their service to citizens will be the example we will boast together”, Krasniqi added. /Periscope.
