The message of LDK chairman Lumir Abdixhiku on the 26th anniversary of Freedom Day:
On the 26th anniversary of the Kosovo Liberation Day, we honor and remember June 12th, 1999, the historic date for the people and the state of Kosovo. Today, we remember the sacrifice of generations that fought and contributed to our country's freedom and independence. On this day, Kosovo was freed from the Serbian occupier and ruler, ending more than a century of occupation and oppression. It was the day when our country began to breathe free, in peace, and in hopes of a brighter future. The deliverance came as a result of a long journey of the efforts of generations; it came as the last light of the '90s peaceful, whose faith never ceased; through the peaceful and visionary engagement of the Historical President, Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, and then through the armed resistance of the Kosovo Liberation Army”, Obadiah wrote.
Among other things, he adds, Kosovo's future has been designed and designed in question by former President Ibrahim Rugova, remembering to express gratitude and ally of Kosovo, the US.
“These efforts were crowned with the decisive intervention of NATO, following 78 days of bombings against Serbian military targets, marking the surrender of the Milosevic criminal regime. This regime had committed serious crimes against humanity. It had killed thousands of innocent civilians, expelled over one million Albanians from their homes, and destroyed everything that was Albanian. But thanks to the dedication of our people and the assistance of our international friends, rights and freedom triumphed”.
So our future is designed and designed in words by the Founding Father of the Republic of Kosovo, President of Historical Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, “Kosovo independent and sovereign state, member of NATO and the EU, with permanent friendship with the United States of America”; whose vision serves as political guidance in each step! So we today express deep gratitude to the United States of America, the European Union, NATO and all democratic states that stood by Kosovo in the most crucial moments. May this day always be the memory of sacrifice and guide for our common future. U n Subtitles by LeapinLar
