The Kosovo government has said Iran must stop hybrid actions that violate regional stability and that the diplomatic path is needed to resolve the conflict, following the escalation of the situation with Israel.
Since Friday, Israel and Iran have intensified attacks on each other. Israel launched attacks targeting Iran's nuclear and military facilities, and then the response came from Tehran.
Kosovo's “Republic is accompanying the tense situation between Israel and Iran with concern, and calls on all parties involved to refrain, with the aim of avoiding further escalation of the security crisis in the region”, the prime minister's Office's response reported.
Referring to the International Atomic Energy Agency's latest data (IAEA), stressing that Iran is not fulfilling its obligations for non-proliferation, the Government of Kosovo has said Tehran must stop hybrid actions and return to international obligations.
“Diplomatic solution is the right way to address security issues, halt violence and prevent the broader regional and global consequences --” -- further said in the statement.
The government calls on Kosovo citizens, especially those in the region or have contacts there, to show increased care and to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, as well as local authorities.
In conclusion, the government has said it reaffirms its commitment to the values of peace, democracy and international security, expressing solidarity with all citizens affected by the current conflict. /Periscopi/
