The modern-day Food and Veterinary Agency puts the provision of a temporary halt to the import of animal species and by - products from the Lombardy area in northern Italy after confirming the explosion of skin disease. According to the Veterinary Law, referring to the ADDI and WHO report, AUV reveals the measure of temporary ban to prevent the spread of the disease in our country. The authorities are committed to border control to take all measures to implement the command to stop with the goal of maintaining animal health in Kosovo”, AUV report said.
The LSD disease, or skin bump, is a viral gland disease, with typical signs of bumps in the skin. Transmitter of this disease are stinging insects that are more active during the late spring, summer, and early autumn.
Disease poses no danger to human health.
<x) This disease does not affect a person and as such poses no danger to human health. AUV has prepared human capacities for response, as this disease was present in Kosovo for the first time in 2016. Since then we have actively maintained updated capacities with all innovations on more effective forms of combating the disease. There is currently no danger, but we will be actively following the situation on the spread of the disease”, said AUV./Periscope/
