The intense attacks have lasted several hours and are reported to have been carried out by floating missiles and fear kamikaze.
Tymur Tkachenko, chief of the military department, has said the drones have hit the floors of a high building on the eastern side of the city, and therefore fire broke out.
US President Donald Trump has said on June 4th that Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned Russia would answer the attacks that were carried out in Russian air force spaces, resulting in the destruction of dozens of Russian bombers with nuclear capacity.
Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) carried out the attack on June 1st, and has later declared that more than 40 bombers were hit.
Trump spoke to Putin over the phone and described the call as a good “chat, although he mentioned it was not the kind that would lead to immediate peace.
The American president has said that the surprise Ukrainian attacks have been one of the topics of discussion.
“We have discussed the attack on Russian planes on the part of Ukraine and several other attacks that were carried out by both sides”, Trump has said.
He has met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday at the White House to talk about co-operation for Ukraine and other topics.
Merz, who has started acting Chancellor last month, has told reporters before the start of the meeting that he does not expect there will be a very large outcome over the issue of tariffs, NATO or war in Ukraine.
However, after the meeting, he has declared it to be the extremely satisfied “”.
Merz has said that the United States and Germany reconcile “the terrible war is”, blaming Putin, and stressing that Germany stands on Ukraine's side.
We're going to analyze ways to end it quickly”, Merz said.
“I told the president that he is the world's main person who can do this, pressuring Russia”.
Germany is the second largest supporter of Ukraine after the United States military and financial, while Kiev fights Russian invasion. /Periscope/
