“Today, we honour the dedication and courage of KFOR soldiers who risk themselves on the line of duty to ensure peace and stability for all communities in Kosovo, under a UN mandate. Since the beginning of the mission in 1999, two hundred and twenty members of KFOR's service have lost their lives in carrying out the task. Their example should inspire us in our daily tasks for the fulfillment of KFOR mission”, Bardon said.
“As the longest-lived mission in the history of the Atlantic Alliance, and currently the largest, KFOR reflects NATO's firm and concrete commitment to protecting security throughout Kosovo and regional stability. KFOR efforts remain essential in supporting the necessary political progress towards a long-term stability in the region”, he added.
KFOR, KFOR said as usual that it continues to implement its mandate to provide a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement at any time and impartially. KFOR reiterated that “works in close co-ordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union's Mission for Rule of Law in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responsible”. /Periscope.
