KEK comes up with clarification of black smoke

The announcement reportedly said that the entity's launch process had begun this morning, after successfully completed all planned, timely and highly technical interventions.

Today several video footage containing black smoke has been published, which is why KEKU has an explanation.

According to this energy corporation, the launch of each production unit, including the A5 unit this morning, is a complex and technically necessary process, usually 350 hours long.

Unit A5th e TC Kosova Return to Operation

Kosovo Energy Corporation ( KEK Sh.a.) announces public opinion that today, at 23,06.2025, the Kosovo A5 thermal power utility A has been synchronized with the electromagnetic network around 10:03 am, marking a successful return to the operation, following the implementation of a series of necessary interventions and technical sanctions.

The entity's launch process had started this morning, after successfully completed all planned, timely and highly technical interventions.

Done tasks include:

• Sanitation of leaks in rivenxing (completed Friday);

• Denial of economyser (water plant) leaks and furnace screens (completed Sunday);

• Cleaning off hydrogen cooling pressure;

• Cleaning municipalities at the entrance of the condensator;

• Preservative discussions on ERR equipment;

• Cleaning up quotas around the furnace from foreign materials for increased security and operational efficiency.

This return to surgery confirms once again the capacity and readiness of our technical teams, which, with professional commitment and continued co-ordination, provided a successful and sustainable process of restoring the A5 unit.
