Level 4 warning was issued in response to the State Department's decision to authorize the voluntary departure of US government staff members as well as non-urgent employees amid bilateral attacks between Israel and Iran.
The American Embassy announced yesterday that, “due to the current security situation and continuing conflict between Israel and Iran, all American government employees and their family must continue to stay sheltered in or near their residences until a second announcement. ”
New Instructions
The State Department calls on American citizens not to travel towards Israel, “due to armed conflict, terrorism and civil unrest. ”
It also advises them not to travel to the West Coast and the Gaza Strip.
Previously, the warning to Israel and the West Coast was at Level 3: Review the journey, “due to terrorism and civil unrest. ”
Updated warning reads:
The security situation in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, is unpredictable, and American citizens are reminded to be vigilant and to take measures to raise their awareness of security, as security incidents involving mortars and rockets, deposing armed drones and missiles can occur without warning. ”/Periscopi/
