The United Kingdom is sending other fighter planes to the Middle East as fighting between Israel and Iran intensifys.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has declared that the aircraft, among which those of the “Tyfun” and those serving fuel supplies, were being sent to the region to support the entities.
Starmer has stressed that the situation is rapidly changing, and these changes are being discussed with the Allies. Our ongoing message “is detension”, Starmer said, conveys euronews.
For the last time, the United Kingdom had sent fighter planes to the region last year, when the government said the British aircraft carrier had played a key role in preventing escalation.
Prime Minister Starmer has made comments en route to Canada, where the G7 summit will be held, where weekend developments are expected to be at the centre of the talks.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron and American Donald Trump are among the leaders who have arrived at Alberta, where the summit is held.
The prime minister has neither denied nor confirmed the possibility of British aircraft assisting Israel, as happened in April and October of last year.
Iran has warned Britain, France and America that if they support Israel, their ships and bases in the Middle East, they will be considered legitimate targets. /Periscope/
