Ali Shamkhan, Iran's top adviser to his supreme leader, Ajollah Khamenei, has died in hospital the day after Israel launched air strikes across the country, Iranian media reported.
Shamkhan had previously served as Iran's top national security official for a decade and had represented Iran in the negotiations of approaching Saudi Arabia, relieved by China.
Otherwise, it is the last in a line of advisers, commanders and other top military personnel killed in Israeli air strikes on Iranian targets since early Friday morning, write The Jerusalem Post , broadcast Periscope.
Shamkhan served as one of Iran's top military officials for decades, serving as defence minister between 1997 and 2005 and as secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council from 2013 to 1923.
