Israel or Iran, who is the strongest “”?

Israel's conflict with Iran may seem like an uneven encounter on paper with a nation of nine million people in front of a Middle Eastern giant of 88 million people. But Israel's powerful and sophisticated military forces with an arsenal, but not exclusively, provided by the United States, seem to be helping it strike a much larger enemy.

British Media BBC has made an analysis of military balance in this recent Middle East war.

What has Israel accomplished so far?

According to the BBC, Israel already claims to have taken control of the sky over Tehran. There's been a complete inequality in the air with no sign of Iran's old warplanes being flown.

The fleet of modern American planes in Israel has been able to launch closely driven bombs without any serious concern for the crash.

Most threats from Iran's air defence were destroyed in an Israeli attack earlier in October, using long-range weapons to crack Iran's S-300 missile systems.

In recent days, Israeli air forces have continued to hit ground radars and missile launchers.

Even before the attack began, Israel had intelligence agents inside Iran to sabotage its response.

Mossad's agents used secretly introduced fears in the country to crack down on remaining air defence systems.

Israeli attacks have also eliminated many of the Iranian Army's top command, which has significantly weakened Tehran's response.

Can Iran retaliate?

Before the Israeli attacks, Iran had what the United States called the largest ballistic missile “arendal in the Middle East” by 2,000 to 3,000 rockets, the BBC writes, records Telegrafi.

Some of these missiles and the factories they produced have already been hit. The Israeli Army says it has destroyed a third of Iran's land-land launchers.

However, Tehran has still managed to launch waves after waves of rockets towards Israel, and some have penetrated Israel's advanced air defence systems.

Despite the damage, the Iranian missile programme has not been completely eliminated and remains the biggest threat to Israel.

Iran still has many short-range defense missiles, and according to expert Justin Brock from the institute RUSSIA, Israel can claim air supremacy over Tehran, but not full dominance.

Does Iran's allies have what they can do?

For years, Iran has supported Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon with military aid, weapons and technology.

But their ability to threaten Israel has greatly weakened: Hamas has almost been destroyed in Gaza, while Hezbollah has weakened so much that it has not reacted to the attack on Iran.

Even further away, the Huth rebels in Yemen have managed to launch rockets from time to time toward Israel.

They survived an ongoing US bombing campaign earlier this year and dropped several American Reaper fears.

Could other countries be included?

Iran has the ability to strike Western interests in the region. Iranian-backed militants in Iraq have targeted Western military bases.

And the United States and Great Britain are preparing for the worst.

The U.S. Navy and Great Britain are present in Bahrain. And the longer this war lasts, the greater the risk for Western troops.

Iran also has the opportunity to block the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the most important sea routes in the world.

Although Tehran may not be able to expand the conflict at the moment, he can do so if he decides.

Can Israel attain its objective?

Israel is in the lead, but the continuation of its military campaign depends largely on American support, the BBC emphasises, sends out Telegrafi.

Israel receives billions of US military aid each year. Most of the weapons used by their planes are produced in the US, including the interceptive missiles of the Iron Dome system.

The special bombs for penetrate the bunkers Israel has used against the Iranian nuclear programme are also from the US.

President Donald Trump has so far allowed their use, but reportedly has stopped an Israeli attack on Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

The U.S. also did not give Israel access to weapons that would probably be necessary to destroy Fordow's subterranean nuclear complex <x0-Massieve Ordance Penetator”, which can be transported only to US strategic bombers B2.

Even with continued US military support, Israel's chances of achieving its goals are limited.

The air campaign could slow Iran's nuclear programme down, but it cannot completely destroy it. While the overthrow of the Iranian regime seems almost impossible.

Air campaigns create fear, chaos, and ruins. But as Libya's cases show in 2011 or the current Gaza campaign they rarely end up with a clear victory. /Periscope/
