<x0Iran is essentially ready to resume nuclear negotiations with the US”, according to an X post by Foreign Minister Abbas Arghchi, though he called on US President Donald Trump to moderate his tone.
“If President Trump is sincere in the desire for an agreement, he should put aside the unacceptable and irreverent tone of Iran's supreme leader, Ajatolah Khamenei, and stop hurting millions of his warm followers”, Arghchi said in his post.
The good will arises, and respect gives rise to respect”, he stressed.
Trump said at a recent summit that new talks would be held with Iran next week, but did not provide any details.
Several rounds of negotiations between Tehran and Washington on the Iranian nuclear programme failed to produce an agreement in recent months.
Then, in June, accusing Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons, Israel targeted objects across the country during a 12-day war.
Beyond the nuclear facilities, Israel also hit defence positions, targets in cities and oil fields and natural gas, and killed more than 20 top military officials, some in their homes.
The US also intervened on behalf of Israel with an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
Iran constantly stresses that its nuclear programme is only for civilian purposes.
When asked if he would order another bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities if concerns over Tehran's enrichment of uranium were resurfaced, Trump replied yes, saying Iran should not be allowed nuclear weapons.
The latest”Sulmet has turned his nuclear programme for years behind”, he reiterated.
Following the Israeli and American attacks, the Iranian parliament adopted a law suspending co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) this week, although Tehran has not officially announced the agency for such a step.
Nuclear negotiations would not be possible without the technical supervision of the UN nuclear agency”, according to specialists./Periscopi/
