Esmaeil Kousari, a member of the Iranian parliament and former commander of the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), accused Grossi of co-operating with the United States and Israel to justify attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities.
He said Grossi's behaviour represents a political intervention and not a neutral position, as required by the IAEA mandate.
The ban proposal has been submitted to Iran's Supreme National Security Council, while the Iranian Parliament has recently voted for further restrictions on co-operation with the UN nuclear agency.
According to Kowsari, Grossi's actions constitute <x0-edge of Iran's national interests and sovereignty”, while praising that IAA has lost its technical objective.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has not yet commented on the charges and proposal for detention./Periscopi/
