The battle between Israel and Iran has taken another dimension, as a bold statement by a senior Iranian commander, who has been involved in the conflict and Pakistan. Moshen Resaei, a member of Iran's National Security Council and former commander of the Revolutionary Guard, declared on state television that Pakistan has pledged nuclear military support if Israel uses nuclear weapons against Iran.
“Pakistan has assured us that if Israel uses a nuclear bomb against Iran, they will attack Israel with a nuclear bomb,” Resaei declared.
But Islamabad has reacted immediately, denying any such commitment. Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif wrote on the X platform: Our nuclear power is for the protection of our people and the sovereignty of Pakistan. We do not pursue hegemonic policies against our neighbours, as Israel is doing these days. ”
The statements come as the military clash between Iran and Israel has moved to the most dangerous phase for decades. After Israel undertook a large - scale air strike, Iran responded with waves of drones and ballistic missiles that ignited Tel Aviv's sky and other Israelite cities.
The Israeli Army said on Monday it had destroyed a third of Iran's land-earth missile systems.
According to Israeli Army spokesman Brig Gen Effie Defran, “more than 50 fighter aircraft have hit over 120 missile launch positions. This represents a third of the Iranian regime's land-land capacities. ”
In the midst of these dramatic developments, a senior Israeli official, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, did not rule out the possibility of an assassination against Iranian Supreme Leader Ajatolah Ali Khamenei. “It is not immune”, the official said, stressing that all options are on the table.
Meanwhile, tensions are also expanding diplomaticly. Pakistani Defence Minister, during a speech at the national assembly on 14 June, called for a united response from the Muslim world against Israel. He urged countries with diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv to interrupt them and requested an urgent meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation. /Periscope/
