Sirens were heard throughout Israel following the release of a ballistic missile from Iran, and several strong explosions were heard over the southern part of the country, the Times of Israel reported. Civilians were ordered to remain in nuclear shelter. Warnings were issued throughout central, northern, and southern Israel as well as in the Jerusalem area. Israel hit an area near the nuclear reactor in Kondab in central Iran, Iranian news agency (ISNA) reported.

Initial reports show that there are injuries and that there are huge material damage, as well as at least four countries of Iranian missile attacks following the recent air attack on central and southern Israel.

The heavy - water reactor is located on the outskirts of Kondaby.
The military has stressed that it was operating in the area against Iranian military infrastructure. The research reactor was built in part and formerly known as Arak, and Tehran has announced the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that it plans to begin building the facility next year.
Heavy water helps cool nuclear reactors, but produces plutonium as a by - product that can potentially be used to produce nuclear weapons.
The IAEA has asked Israel not to attack Iranian nuclear facilities. IAEA inspectors reportedly visited Arac for the last time on May 14th.
Civilians were ordered to stay in bomb shelters until further notice. Warnings were issued throughout central, northern, and southern Israel as well as in the Jerusalem area.
