According to American media, the immigration law enforcement operation has spread to the towns of Paramount and Compton, where at least 44 people have been arrested so far.
The operation has triggered a wave of protests, which in some areas have turned into clashes with police. A car has been burned in Paramount, while authorities have placed razor wire to control the crowds.
In response to the escalation of the situation, the administration of current US President Donald Trump has sent 2,000 members of the National Guard to Los Angeles. The governor of California's office confirmed that about 300 soldiers arrived in the early hours of the morning, located at three locations throughout the city.
Reports say that arrests have also been carried out at workplaces, including the Apparel Environment Plant, and shock bombs have been used, which has further disturbed the local community.
