Hoxha: We have submitted evidence that Spahiu is part of KP from 2022.

Serbian authorities several days ago detained a former Special Operations Police Unit police official of Kosovo, who submitted the detention measure of 1 month.

This came under Belgrade's charges, that Arbnor Spahiu participated in the September 24th operation in Zvecan Banjsk, where an attack on Kosovo police led by former Serbian List deputy leader Milan Radojicic was carried out.

But in an exclusive interview for Tv1, Police Director General Gazmend Hoxha firmly says that Spahiu has been no part of the police since 2022.

In the last case, yes, our former Spahiu police official is in the wake of these efforts of Serbia to intimidate and change our image, the Kosovo Police, but also to discourage police officials from doing their jobs I believe will fail. He has been a former police official, but the same has resigned from Kosovo Police in 2022. The charge I saw in the media yesterday for participating in Banjske's operation does not stand at all, he has not been part of operations since 2022, he does not live in Kosovo with his wife in Germany”, Hoxha said.

According to director Hoxha, superiors of the unit where the former police official served have already sent documentation to Serbian authorities to testify that the same is not part of the Kosovo Police.

Hoxha has another call for all police officials.

“We are in contact with his lawyer through the superiors where our colleague has served, we will offer any documentation necessary for him to be released as soon as possible from legal procedures that Serbia is unjustly following, to return to the family we believe that justice will prevail with all that in Serbia is a big problem to believe in, the fact that he is not a Kosovo police officer has not been a participant in Bansjka, and that is documented with any necessary documents that we have only forwarded to his lawyer, Mr. Arian Koci. We also call on both our policemen and those currently serving as well as those who are not part of the police to avoid any journey towards Serbia”, the KP director has said.

The Police Director also talked about Serbia's attempt to bring Serbian police officers back to work through propaganda who resigned from this institution three years ago.

But he stressed that their return is impossible because the same have not been loyal to the institution.

“We are aware that during the end of the year, Serbia's president Vuciq created a plan or platform on how to approach Kosovo and address its government's concerns about the situation in Kosovo, and among them was his request for the return of police officers, our police officials who have resigned from Kosovo Police, the Serb community has returned to office. This is impossible to happen for reasons that they have not been loyal to the Kosovo Police have not been loyal to the laws of the Republic of Kosovo, as such they cannot be part of the Kosovo Police” , Hoxha has said.
