Through a Facebook post, Hoti said June 12th 1999 marked the end of an era of oppression and the beginning of a new period of freedom and hope for Kosovo.
The Kosovo Liberation Day, June 12, 1999, marks the end of an era of oppression and the beginning of a new period of freedom and hope. This release was the result of two strong pillars of people's resistance: the peaceful and visionary movement led by President Ibrahim Rugova and the armed war of the Kosovo Liberation Army. President Rugova for years led peaceful resistance by building Kosovo state institutions and representing Kosovo in the international arena with wisdom and discretion. He shaped Kosovo's state identity under very difficult”, wrote Hoti on Facebook.
