An accident at work turned into a deadly tragedy. A man only 38 years old lost his life Tuesday afternoon.
He, Albanian citizen and old resident of Castel Bologist, was working on a field on a farm between Solarolo and Castel Bologist. About 6: 00 p.m., his family, after unable to contact him, went looking for him.
The dynamics of the accident remain unclear, but the man was fatally injured by a tractor. He was allegedly crushed by standing forks. The 118 aid arrived quickly, but the doctor could do nothing but confirm the death of 38. Labour Medicine and Carabinieri were also on the scene.
The body was made available to judicial authorities for further investigation, while the tractor was seized. The Public Prosecutor has ordered an autopsy, while the technical investigation will determine exactly the causes of death, as the man was crushed between the standing fork and the upper part of the cabin.
Immediately after the tragedy, the prosecutor co-ordinating the investigation, Stefano Stargiotti, ordered that the vehicle in which the victim was found and opened a case of unintentional murder against unknown persons. This procedure is necessary for further inspection.
Yesterday, Emilia Romagna region, through President Michele de Pascale and regional adviser to labour policies, Giovanni Paglia, joined the condolences of agricultural workers, trade unions and citizens of Castel Bologist, expressing solidarity to the victim's family:
We want to express our most sincere condolences, ours and the entire regional community, the family of the agricultural worker who died in a tragic job accident. Unfortunately, this is the last case in a series of unfortunate events that are affecting the province of Ravenna in 2025 and that cannot be left unanswered. Health and workplace security should be the focus of all institutions, political and social forces, indiscriminately. ” said de Pascal and Paglia. /Periscope/
