This call was not taken into account”, he said at an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on Sunday. “Instead, shelling Iranian nuclear facilities from the United States marks a dangerous turn in a region that is already in shock”, the UN chief said.
Guterres said he has repeatedly ruled out any military escalation in the Middle East”, adding that the region's “people cannot endure another cycle of destruction. Yet, we are now in danger of falling into a revenge hole in retaliation”. /Periscope/
