Two people have died, hundreds have been arrested and cars burned in France overnight, while football fans have celebrated the World Champions League victory by Paris Saint-Germain.
The euphoria episode was in Paris, where fans drove by cars, sang in the streets and threw fireworks after the SPG's 5:0 win over Inter Milan in Munich.
France's Interior Ministry said 491 people were arrested in Paris, following clashes between fans and policemen.
Throughout France, including Paris, 599 total have been arrested, the ministry said.
Two people died during the festivities.
A man driving into the scooter in Paris died after being hit by a car. In the town of Dax, a 17-year-old boy was killed as a crowd gathered to celebrate the SPG's victory, prosecutors said.
He died “during celebrations”, the prosecutor's office said, but did not show whether his death was directly linked to the Champions League final. In the report, the suspected person “is on the run”.
The Interior Ministry said 18 police officers were injured in Paris, and three others in other parts of France, while fans were out on the street to celebrate. Seven more firefighters were also injured.
Authorities reported that 692 fires were reported overnight, including 264 cars that were burned.
The SPG team will parade through Paris on Sunday, where tens of thousands of football team supporters are expected to gather to celebrate the Champions League's victory. / REL/Periscopi/
