National has learned from safe sources that KLA leaders have complained of extreme restrictions on basic communication with lawyers.

In the letter that the media learns Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, it is said these restrictions are violations of basic human rights.

Those in the letter have mentioned specific cases when unexpected meetings with lawyers are arranged, and this in totally inappropriate environments.

Part of this complaint is the fact of the right to information.

Thaci and others have said they are being denied all the time access to the Kosovo media, to be informed about developments in Kosovo.

These violations of basic human rights and indictees, as Thaci and others have highlighted, are taking place at the most possible time when defence is preparing its case that will present it in court.

The letter in question of Kosovo Liberation Army leaders so far has remained unanswered by Kosovo's Specialised Chambers with headquarters at The Hague.

Pre-prisoned at The Hague, they have been banned most of the visits on behalf of <x0 Justice Administration”.

National yesterday reported exclusively that former KLA leaders have refused even meeting with the ombudsman.

According to Nacional sources, the KLA's four leading four, in terms of refusing to visit this institution within the court, has listed one for one wrongdoing that, according to them, The DHSK has committed to them and for which the Ombudsperson has kept silent.

KLA leaders have complained about “human handle” By the Pre-prison Unit, as well as a series of other minor violations that, according to them, have been ignored by the ombudsman, although he is mandated precisely to address such cases.

They have even informed him that with this silent approach, he has violated the Constitution and the laws of Kosovo, as well as the European Convention on Human Rights.

Besides, according to Nacional sources, KLA leaders have indicated that violations in question have also addressed the ombudsman in Kosovo.

Under such circumstances, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi have indicated they find no reason to accept a visit by the Special Court's Ombudsperson.

According to them, the Ombudsman near the Specialised Chambers has been insincere when, in April of this year, during an interview for T7, downplayed pre-prisoned complaints, reducing them to “anques for food and prison rules”

Such a statement, as they have told National sources, does not in any way present the true state of KLA leaders in custody.

On the other hand, Kosovo's Ombudsman, Naim Celaj, has sharply criticised the treatment that has been done to indictees on the part of the Court, Prosecutor's and the Centre for Pre-prisonment.

Even during a meeting with Special Chambers Speaker Ekaterina Trendafilova, he has stressed that the Special Ombudsperson cannot be considered independent as long as he is one of the members of the Special Chambers.
