EULEX extends mandate to Kosovo until 2027

The Europina Union's mission to the Kosovo Law Endover (EULEX) in Kosovo has extended the mandate until 14 June 2027.
This is how the decision has been made by Council The European Union in Luxembourg in 05.06.2025.
Under this decision, in the context of EULEX's strategic revision, the Political and Security Committee agreed that the mission will extend to this date.
The last time EULEX was extended was on June 5, 2023, until June 14, 2025.
On February 4th 2008, the Council approved the Joint Action by establishing the EULEX mission in Kosovo.
Financial amount for covering EULEX spending in Kosovo from June 15th to June 14, 2027 is 170,866,980 euros.
Of this amount, 64 thousand 492 980 euros Mission spending coverage in Kosovo, while 106 thousand. 374 are for support of the procedures displaced in a Member States.
EULEX has come to Kosovo in 2008, after declaring independence, replacing the UN mission, UNMIK, but with more limited competence.
EULEX reduced its competencies even more in 2011 and 2012 when Kosovo was stripped of international independence. /Periscope/
