EU warns Kosovo over construction of two bridges over Iber

The EU has confirmed that it is currently conducting a routine structural assessment of the bridge and an urban study of the surrounding area.
According to them, this process does not signal any changes to the status quo, but aims to base any future decision on refreshing, technical and objective data.

The EU stresses that Kosovo authorities have been informed in advance of this technical assessment, although incumbent Deputy Minister Hysen Durmish recently declared they have not received official notice of these tests.
From Brussels also confirm that it is closely co-ordinated with its international partners in Kosovo regarding the future of the bridge.
Among other things, Kosovo authorities are urged to refrain from any uncoordinated action, including the construction of bridges in the vicinity, while all dialogue agreements, including what to do with the bridge, are required.
