Former US State Department spokeswoman Matthew Miller has declared that Israel's special soldiers have committed war crimes with Hamas at the Gaza Strip, stressing that this is inconsistent.
I don't think it's genocide, but I think it's without a doubt true that Israel committed war crimes”, Miller said in an interview for British television “Sky News”
He explained that, although the US has not officially come up with results for war crimes by the Israeli state, there is clear evidence of individual cases. “There have been incidents that have been war crimes, where Israeli Army soldiers have committed them,” he added, citing the investigation, but “we are not seeing anyone held accountable”.
Miller stressed that democracies should be tried based on their ability to punish offenders, but so far Israel “has not done enough” in this direction.
Meanwhile, Israeli authorities deny charges of war crimes, claiming their military operations target Hamas rather than civilians who, according to them, are being used as human shields by the Palestinian militant group./Periscopi/
