Kosovo's incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has participated in the hosted by Japan's Embassy in Kosovo in honour of renowned Japanese professor Hisashi Owada.
Professor Owada, former president of the International Court of Justice (GJND), also former deputy minister of foreign affairs of Japan and former ambassador to the United Nations, is standing for a visit to Kosovo.
In his speech during the wait, Prime Minister Kurti welcomed Professor Owada and on behalf of the people and Kosovo institutions expressed permanent gratitude for his role in the International Court of Justice leadership in the period when this court gave its opinion on Kosovo's declaration of independence.
“Professor Owenda is not only an honored guest of Kosovo he is a friend whose contributions are deeply confused in our national history.
His leadership in international law and his commitment to peace and justice have left a lasting impression on our collective memory”, Kurti stressed.
He added that Kosovo had the destiny of having an intellectual and moral jury at the top of the JND, at a vital moment for the future of Kosovo's citizenship.
The international judiciary and the principle of peaceful co-existence among nations have benefited greatly from the clarity of thought and force of its obedience”, Kurti said.
In this case, Pristina University has honoured Professor Owada with the top title. Doctor Honoris CausaAt an academic ceremony organised today to assess his contribution to international justice and his support for the right of peoples to self-rule. /Periscope/
