The US State Department (DASH) has welcomed the Kosovo government's decision, which has decided to provide temporary protection to 50 persons from third states, within the framework of co-operation with the United States.
Kosovo's incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, said that the position of up to 50 people in the country who would later return to their countries of origin would be managed and co-ordinated by the interior affairs ministers. The decision was adopted yesterday in the Government of Kosovo.
WITHOUT the decision that it has described as an important co-operation for President Trump's administration priorities.
“We are grateful to our Kosovo partner for the admission of citizens of the third countries expelled from the United States and for facilitating the safe return of these people to their countries of origin,” CHA reported in the UN statement on CBS News.
Full details of which persons will be sent to Kosovo and from which countries they come remain unclear. However, the US usually uses such agreements with third countries to deport migrants who cannot return to their countries due to diplomatic co-operation or other security reasons.
Kosovo authorities will have the right to select persons from a proposed list, taking into account criteria related to rule of law and public order. /Periskpi/
