Former COSTT chairman Jeton Mehmeti has commented on news that KEK is not producing electricity.
He has said that Kosovo will cost approximately 2.5m euros a day for electricity imports alone.
Mehmeti has estimated that over this estimate, for three or four months, the import price would equal the cost of building a new thermal power plant like Kosovo, with 500 megawatts of electricity.
In a day like this, without enough local production, Kosovo costs approximately 2.5m euros for electricity imports per day. Ten such days are translated into a solar field of 50 missing MW”, Mehmeti has estimated.
“11 days like this is the size of investment for a solar field of 100MW. While three or four months and a few days at this pace, it equals the cost of building a new thermal power plant like TC Kosova New 500MW. We're facing the consequences. One day's consumption is just forecast based on statistics last month/ Annual size in one day. The Burse-based price without counting shopping prices outside of it”, he said.
