An Israeli national security expert has claimed for CNN that Israel, in Sunday's morning air strikes west of Iran, has targeted rocket launchers similar to those used in recent attacks against Israeli territory, but also tools that could directly threaten American forces and their allies in the region.
“According to everything that has been thrown towards us during the last hour we are dealing with a very powerful attack on Israel, a part of which was seized by our air defence and another non-”, said Miri Eis from the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism for CNN.
The options we're hitting now are the very launchors that attacked us only an hour ago. Because if you want to stop the attack, you need to hit the source by the launcher himself. It is those who have the ray to hit Israel”, she added.
Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) claimed that during Sunday's morning attacks, two F-5 fighter aircraft of Iranian forces stationed at Desful Airport in the province of Khusestan have been hit.
Moreover... eight missile launchers have been neutralised, including six who were ready to launch missiles in the direction of Israeli territory immediately, the IDF's official statement said.
This new wave of Israeli attacks came shortly after Iran launched its first missiles against Israel following the United States' announcement of attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities overnight./Periscopi/
