Quoting the police spokesman, Reuters reports that the couple -- both about the age of 60 -- and the 62-year-old brother -- have been hit by the same lightning.
The rare event took place on Sunday afternoon, as people were descending the Mt Mittagspitze Mountain near the village of Flirsch.
It is known that their bodies were found near a mountain path at an altitude of 2,298 feet [2,268 m].
