In the joint response, organisations stress that the Assembly is the highest representative institution and cannot remain hostage to the will of a single political subject. They criticise the procedural deviations of leader Avni Dehari and attempts to impose a unilateral process through the secret vote, stressing that the move conflicts with the Constitutional Court Act of June 26th.
Civil organisations call for political compromise and restoring the functionality of the Parliament, urging all parties to assume their democratic responsibilities in order to allow the adoption of laws and the appointment of new institutions.
“Democracy cannot function without functional institutions. The current blockade is unacceptable and directly harms citizens' interest,” said in the statement. /Periscope/
