It has become known that senior officials on both sides have gathered in the British capital to discuss the preliminary agreement reached last month in Geneva, where rare minerals and advanced technologies are expected at the centre.
According to reports, the US delegation is headed by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Trade Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, while the Chinese side is represented by Deputy Prime Minister He Lifeng.
Investors and global leaders hope that the two superpowers will achieve concrete progress and ease tensions.
The meeting in London comes after a call held last week between US President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, during which Xi reportedly has asked the “Trump to withdraw the negative” measures the US has undertaken against China.
