CEC, Venice Commission Hold Worker for February 9th Parliamentary Elections

During this workshop, attended by members and CEC officials, representatives of various institutions (The People's Avocacy, the Election Panel for Ances and Paraseta and the Agency for Prevention of Corruption) were addressed issues different from the February 9th elections, with particular emphasis on resolving electoral disputes and monitoring, documentation and sanctioning the misuse of state resources.
At the opening of the workshop, CEC leader Kreshnik Radoniqi expressed gratitude to the Venice Commission for their presence in our country as a clear testimony to the common commitment to support democratic standards, transparency and rule of law in the election processes in Kosovo and beyond.
Likewise, leader Radoniqi unveiled the performance of the latest election process and the challenges he faced. The CEC and the lessons to make the improvements needed for future election processes.
Meanwhile, from Venice Commission Secretariat Michael Janssen thanked the CEC for this joint organisation and expressed the importance of handling recommendations.
Organised labour is in line with the standard practice of the Venice Commission, which usually offers assistance before or after elections during which it participates in monitoring missions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The goal of the meeting is to help in post-election analysis and contribute to strengthening the integrity and functionality of election processes in Kosovo.
In the recent elections for the Kosovo Assembly, a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has stood in Kosovo in order to assess the election campaign and the political climate before parliamentary elections, which were held on February 9th 2025.
