At the start of the meeting, The CEC made the decision to restrict election campaign spending for political subjects, which will be certified for participation in the Local Elections for Municipal Speakers and Communist Consorts, which will be held on October 12th 2025. According to the CEC decision, a political subject -- in the municipality where it will participate in the elections -- has the right to spend up to 2 euros for every registered voter in that municipality.
Political subjects cannot exceed the limited value of spending in municipalities in which they are certified to participate in the elections.
Also, the limits of maximum spending allowed for election campaigns apply to any goods and service spent in relevant municipalities for campaign purposes, regardless of time for purchase or service equipment.
This estimate is done based on Electoral Order No. 07/2024 for the election campaign, monitoring the election campaign, as well as relying on voter preliminary list data in each municipality, under which the total number of voters in our country is 2,071,544 voters.
Following, The CEC approved the budget plan for organising local elections 2025. The budget approved by the CEC is worth 16,126,364 euros.
