CEC announces the diaspora: Recording for voters outside Kosovo starts on July 23rd

The CEC today has announced that the period of application for voter registration outside Kosovo for the mail vote is 23 July-29 August 2025.

“During the 38-day period (July 23rd) July 29th August 2025) all Kosovo citizens living abroad can apply to register as voters outside Kosovo:

1. through the CEC's electronic platform, either
2. Through mail, submitting application to the CEC mailbox in Kosovo”, says the announcement.

It was also said that the electronic platform for registering voters outside Kosovo would be accessible for recording with the beginning of this period.

“The CEC will publish all explanations of the steps to be followed for recording via platform or via mail, as well as information for the criteria and documentation needed for”.

The CEC announced that, unlike national elections, in local elections, voting can only be carried out by post.

“As opposed to the Kosovo Assembly elections, local voting elections abroad are only realised via mail, as the General Election Law stipulates that the vote on diplomatic representation does not apply to this kind of election. Meanwhile, the voting period through the post will begin on 17 September and end on 11 October 2025. This period will apply only to citizens who manage to register successfully as voters outside Kosovo during the census period, July 23rd, August 29th 2025”. /Periscope/
