The Kosovo Business Agency has responded to this, demanding suspension of the decision or escalation of protests.
The Kosovar Business Alliance (AKB) expresses firm and complete opposition to the Energy Regulatory Office decision (ZRRE), which has since entered into force and has forced approximately 1,300 businesses in Kosovo to switch to the much higher and affordable free electricity market. This decision, which has been taken against the business community and without any analysis of economic impact, will have grave consequences for local companies. From today, businesses will face an extreme increase in the energy price of over 250% more than a year ago. ”
The GDP says the ZRR has acted unilaterally, without transparency and has ignored the country's economic reality.
“Z The RRE has acted unilaterally, without transparency and ignoring the country's economic reality. This decision is a direct blow to the private sector, which is the main pillar of Kosovo's economy, and risks hundreds of jobs, lowers competitiveness, and promotes price hikes for consumers. This decision has prompted strong reactions from the business community and has brought protests by hundreds of entrepreneurs and workers throughout the country. ”
In addition to canceling its decision or postponement for a year, the GDP has also called for the start of an open dialogue with institutions.
“On behalf of local businesses, ABB requires: The immediate annulment of the ZERE decision, or at least delay of it for a period of one year. The start of an open and sincere dialogue with state institutions and business representatives to build a sustainable and just solution. The institutional responsibility of Z THREE for the damage done to the country's businesses and economy. If this decision is not suspended, businesses will continue to oppose all democratic and legal forms, including organised protests throughout Kosovo. Protest is not our choice, but it has become inevitable. We will not be silent in the face of injustice! We will protect our work, our future and the right to develop a stable and competitive economy. ”/Periscopi/
