On June 30th, the first session of the former sports club file at the Anti-Corruption and Organised Crime Court will be held.
Charged for passive corruption after allegedly putting the state in place of his groom's benefits, the country's former prime minister will sit at the dock for the first time after the file passed it for trial.
Co-ordinated in this case is his son-in-law, Jamarber Malltezi, whom SPAK accuses of consuming two criminal acts, corruption and money laundering, as a result of the privatisation of the former sports club, Partizan. According to the prosecution's body, Jamarber Malltezi built 19 palaces on state grounds. The SPAK says Malltezi took advantage of his father-in-law's position as one of the five descendants of these lands, through accelerated procedures made with the VKM.
Also suspected are businessman Jimmy Begea, builder Fatmir Bektash and legal studio representative Andia Pustina. The five will face the black platoons of the Special Court, with leading leaders, Elsa Willir and members of Bib Ndreca and Rudina Pashil.
Berisha's battle with the SPAK has been tense. Chairman The DP has brought a flood of charges against two prosecutors who have put it under investigation, Arben Kraja and Enkeleda Milonai, but also against prosecutor's chief Altin Duman. Berisha claims his investigation has political background.
