Kenan Gashi from Avonet said MPs do not need personal assistants, as their commitment as elected representatives should focus on working within parliamentary commissions, broadcasts Periscope.
The Parliament's “Deputes cannot have their own assistant, because their role as MP should function on the basis of their work on the Parliamentary Commissions. According to this, assistants are committed to doing commission-related affairs,” said Gashi for FrontOnline.
He further stressed that many of the current MPs are not fully exercising their function, implying that the engagement of the assistants is more symbolic than functional.
“Deputies have not taken up the full role as deputies, because they are not playing their role. All of these who have received assistants do not belong to a good party and budget storage party,” he added.
