With the approach of the Kurban Bajrami holiday, the Food and Veterinary Agency (AUV) has clearly appealed to citizens of Islamic faith for the slaughter of the offerings to be performed only at licensed slaughter.
AUV spokesman Lamir Thaci, in an interview for Online Economy, stressed the importance of respecting legally defined standards.
According to him, this is not only a matter of trust but also a confidence in public health and law enforcement.
We always urge the citizens of Kosovo to slaughter Kurbank only in licensed slaughter, because in this form we will preserve the health and life of citizens. The cutting out of environments that do not meet technical, sanitation, hygiene, not only conflicts with legislation in power but also poses serious risks to the health of citizens,”, he said.
The AUV representative estimated that the awareness of citizens and farmers has increased in recent years, sending animals for slaughter to licensed slaughterhouses.
We have a positive change. Farmers and their livestock holding them for slaughter are sending them to licensed slaughterhouses, because they themselves have seen that this slaughter is always safe, then it is also in respect of all legislation applied in Kosovo” Thaci said.
He also added that the licensed slaughterhouses are always present for AUV veterinary inspectors, who guarantee control before, during and after the slaughter.
And wherever we face animals being slaughtered in open environments we always act together with the police and every physical person, who does illegal or illegal acts, is always punished according to the laws in power.
Any animal slaughter outside the environment, which is not licensed, means that the animal is subject to exposure by microbiological agents who can contain the product from the slaughtered animal at any time.
And the law always determines that an animal before slaughter should carry out veterinarian controls, checks during the slaughter process, and after the slaughter, ensure that products derived from the animal are safe.
Every licensed slaughter is present at AUV's veting inspectors, who take control of all animals. Therefore, citizens when deciding to slaughter the sacrifice should always be aware that slaughtering them in addition to applying their religious rite should always keep in mind that in this form they will not influence health damage or endangerment, whether their health, or their own” family, Thaci said.
In case of violations, the Food and Veterinary Agency warns legal measures.
“In any case of slaughtering outside licensed objects, the inspector always makes assessments of the situation and except that he can pronounce a mandate fine he always sends the subject or informs the prosecutor of the case, because besides the aspect of administrative wrongdoing, he can always be considered a criminal offense, as a threat to general public health”, Thaci said.. /Periscopi/
