The United States of America has increased their military presence in the Middle East since last weekend, but details remain unclear.
President Donald Trump is considering whether America will intervene in the Israeli-Iran War, while most mentioned is a possible attack on the Fordow nuclear power plant.
One of the few weapons capable of damaging that structure and centrifuges believed to be inside is the latest GBU-57 bomb. A/B Massiveardance Penetrator known as bunker busster, reports ABC News, Transmitt Periscope.
It is 20m long, weighs 30,000 pounds, and is able to penetrate 200 meters deep into one target and then detonate.
Retired Colonel Steve Ganyard said that the bomb, which was never used in combat, was designed specifically to be used against targets in Iran and elsewhere where objects were built underground and protected by thick concrete.
Make sure you save them for places like Iran and North Korea because you don't need something that goes so deep” under normal circumstances, he said.
Ganyard noted that the bomb contains only 5,000 pounds of explosives designed to detonate once it reaches its underground target.
“There would be a massive explosion. It would penetrate the ground and raise some debris, but it would not be a massive cloud”, he said.
No other army, including Israel, has access to the GBU-57 or the platform that can carry the large cargo, the B-2 Spiric hidden bomber, which can carry two of the giant bombs.
Air Force bombers are currently stationed at Missouri Whiteman Air Base and would take 15 hours to reach Iran if they were deployed, according to military experts.

Gaynard noted that B-2's hidden capabilities would not be a factor in a hypothetical mission to destroy bunkers in Iran, as the Israeli Army has destroyed much of Iran's air defence systems.
Iranian officials have dismissed Israel's claims that it was working for a nuclear weapon.
Trump has issued warnings to Iran's leaders about his alleged plans to build a nuclear weapon and has backed the Israeli government's continuing attacks on Iranian targets.
He has issued no statements concerning possible US involvement.

ISA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi issued a statement last week warning of the dangers of attacks on nuclear targets, including the risk of nuclear contamination.
“Sulmes such as these have serious implications for nuclear security, defence and protection, as well as for regional and international peace and security”, he said in a statement./Periscopi/
