Known names of journalism, publicistics and art had been eliminated from the race with a short rationale, " “" is pensioner”. Avni Spahiu, Agim Kasapali, Agim Sopi, Africa Spahiu, Bardh Frangu, Enver Maloku, Enver Petrovci, Fadil Hyja, Gani Mehmetaj and Rushi Ramabaja led out of the race to become a member of Kosovo Radio Television Board, reports Periscope.
But, unlike the Kosovo Assembly that had not allowed professionals to be elected members of the RTK Board, Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani is acting.
Since 5 June, representative of Albin Kurti's CEC party, Sami Kurteshi, has reached retirement age, but this fact continues to pose no problem for Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, who seems to have decided not to respect the Labour Law in Kosovo.
The Labour Law in Kosovo says that the labour relationship ceases when an employee reaches the retirement age of 65.
President Osmani has organised the oath-taking ceremony of members of the CEC in mid-May, just days before Kurteshi reaches retirement, known for his arrogant behavior in relation to the media, and especially for frequent clashes at the Counting and Results Centre during the vote count in the last elections.
So far, Osmani has not publicly clarified in which law it is based on the appointment of CEC member Kurteshi.
