The arrest of two police officers in Pec, the IPK reports they are subcolons and police captain gives details about the case.

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has been declared regarding the arrest of two police officials in Pec, suggesting the same have been arrested as suspected of criminal activity “the mismanagement of official position or authority”.

The IPK has made it known that further investigative actions will be undertaken towards full enlightenment of all circumstances related to this case.

The IPK also pointed out that they had recommended the suspension of two policemen, who were in positions of lieutenant colonel and police captain.

The IPK had launched a preliminary investigation after receiving information from the media in a case allegedly involved two police officials (a lieutenant colonel and a police captain) at the Regional Directorate of Pec.

The communique also shows that the initial incident reported occurred in 28.05.2025 when some police officials in Pec had reported a traffic accident on the “road. Rescue Boyku” and during the survey of the site have accompanied a suspect to the police station who was not involved at all in the accident but who prevented police officials from carrying out their duties.

In addition, it adds, the lieutenant colonel and police captain have allegedly intervened in this case (companied suspect in the station) by failing to convey the case for investigation, and the prosecution has not been reported in case of -- contrary to standard police action procedures in such cases), accusing suspects of a crackdown on corruption of public order and calm.

IPK investigators in the interest of the investigation have recommended the suspension of two police officials (necolonel and police captain) while it is expected that in co-ordination with the Founding Prosecutor in Pec, further investigative actions are undertaken towards the full enlightenment of all the circumstances related to the case.
