Missin Metaj, the father-in-law of former Kosovo police officer Arbnor Spahiu, who is currently being held in Serbia, has urged institutions to react to the ban of its citizen by Serbian authorities. Metaj addressed state institutions saying that “remains who listens to the problems of its citizens?”, adding that his daughter, Arjeta, is traveling to Serbia every day to seek justice for her husband.
Is this a state task? To turn his back on those who served him with honor? Where are our institutions? Where are those who swear to protect their citizens?
And it's not only Arbnor suffering from family suffering, he's suffering, he's suffering from his wife, and he's also suffering every parent who sees how justice is getting pale in the face of injustice”, Metaj wrote, broadcast Clancosova.tv.
On the other hand, he said his daughter, the wife of the former police officer, is struggling alone for the right the state of Kosovo must guarantee.
No more silence! We do not seek charity. We demand that our country wake up and protect its sons”, he wrote.
Besides Arjeta Spahiu's father today, even the former police family has come up with a public statement through which they have sought international assistance.
We appeal to international institutions, human rights organisations and public opinion not to be silent in the face of this injustice. Each person deserves a fair and honest process, and this is not happening in the case of Arbnor. We will continue to seek his justice by legal and institutional means, in the belief that the truth cannot be denied”, said the former police's parents' response.
The former Special Operations Unit member was banned on June 7th by Serbian authorities at the border checkpoint in Horgosh, where the 1 month detention measure was submitted during the past week. /Periscope/
