In the three-minute video Gabrd details a recent visit to Hiroshima, Japan, to learn more about the consequences of the US nuclear attack in the city in 1945 during World War II.
The video contains images of Gabbard's journey and archives showing the victims, combined with Gabbard speaking directly to the camera about the consequences of a nuclear attack, transmits Telegrafi. Periscope.
Gabrd later warns that because today's nuclear weapons are stronger than those used by the United States in 1945, a single nuclear weapon today could kill millions in just a few minutes”.
This is the reality of what's dangerous, with what we're facing now”, Gabbud says in the video.
Because, as we stand here today, closer to the threshold of nuclear extinction than ever before, war lovers are carelessly stirring fears and tensions between nuclear powers”.
Gabbard went on to suggest that powerful people are confident that they will have access to “nuclear shelter” and therefore will not be affected by any consequences.
It's up to us, people, to talk about and look for the end of this madness. We must deny this road to nuclear war and work towards a world where no one should live in fear of a nuclear holocaust”, it continues.
It is not clear when the video was made, but Gabrd traveled to Japan last week, where he visited an American military base along with US Ambassador to Japan George Glass.
Gabbard did not visit Hiroshima during her first trip to Japan as DNI in March, according to an announcement from her office.
When asked to clarify Gabard's comments on the video, Gabard's deputy chief of staff, Alexa Hanning, said her concern for nuclear war is shared by President Donald Trump.
President Trump has repeatedly stated in the past that he knows the immense suffering and destruction that could be caused by nuclear war, so he has been clear that we must all do everything possible to work towards peace”, Henning said in a statement.
“DNI Gabrd supports President Trump's stated objectives to bring lasting peace and stability and to prevent war”.
Gabrd's comments come as the Trump administration continues negotiations with Iran on a nuclear agreement.
Trump told reporters Monday that Iran rejected a US proposal that would have banned the nation from enriching uranium ʹ that could be used to build nuclear weapons. /Telegraph
