The Israeli diplomat, who is ambassador to the Balkan state who has opened the Embassy in Jerusalem, has expressed thanks to Kosovo for supporting Israel.
After the US bombing of three Iranian nuclear facilities in Fordo, Nataz and Isfahan, Prime Minister Kurti was the first Balkan leader to express his support and said nuclear weapons in the hands of authoritarian regimes pose a major threat to global security. Kosovo stands firmly by the US and the EU in opposition to Iran's nuclear ambitions. We appreciate the position of Prime Minister Kurti, all democratic countries must support the US actions and Israel's operation in Iran and understand that by significantly damaging Iran's nuclear programme, the whole world is now a safer country now”, Ziv said in an interview for RTK.
She has said that the people of Kosovo and the Jews who lived in Kosovo historically have always had good neighbourly relations.
During World War II, many courageous Albanians saved the lives of Jews who did not even know them. When Kosovo experienced war and was in time of need, Israel was the first country to establish a field hospital on the border with northern Macedonia, which treated refugees. After the war, other Israelites and especially Mr. Eli Eli Eliezry and Dr. Moshe Landsman came to Kosovo to help rebuild after the war and Dr. Landsman worked in Kosovo for 25 years until he passed away last year. Our countries are now celebrating almost 4.5 years of diplomatic relations in which major progress has been made in various areas, the last of which was the Visa Waiver Agreement that entered into force in early May”, she told RTKlive.
Israel's ambassador to Kosovo, Tamara Ziv, believes and hopes to move from war to reconstruction and will also be able to work together to further develop relations between our countries. She hopes Israel will also open physical embassys in Kosovo.
“I hope next year will bring an increase of bilateral tourism, delegations, economic co-operation, cultural exchanges and educational co-operation in many new areas, she said. /Periscope/
