Kosovo MP at Bern's Canton in Switzerland Korab Rashiti in an interview for Periscope has talked about recent developments in Kosovo. Speaking of a stir in Kosovo politics, he has considered Kurti's decision absurd for after 33 times to propose Albulen Hadziu as chief parliament, reports Periscope.

The current situation in Kosovo is a symptom of a serious institutional blockade. It is absurd that a party, although it has come first in the elections but without parliamentary majority, insists to present more than 33 times the same candidate for the decision chairman's position. The move does not reflect an effort for solutions, but rather a blocking strategy. Parliamentary systems are built on compromise and dialogue, and in this case, the opposition has shown readiness to support further candidacy for this post”, he said.

And this is happening deliberately from Kurt to make time, says MP Rashi.

“Vetevendosje's insistence, and especially of its chairman Albin Kurti, seems to be aimed at gaining time and preserving the status quo, pending an extraordinary circumstance that would enable it to impose a unilateral solution. This is an irresponsible approach, especially considering that Mr. Kurti has been prime minister and well knows that institutional stability is at the core of democratic functioning. In a parliamentary system, it is not the personal chairs or interests of close associates that should be in first place, but national interest”, he told Periscope.

According to the Swiss MP, the opposition with the right numbers could exceed this point.

“As for the opposition, if it is able to present a clear plan and gather the majority of 61 MPs, then it should be possible to overcome the idea that only the most voted party has the exclusive right to form institutions. Consolidated democracy is based not only on election arithmetics, but on the ability to build functional majority through political consensus”, Rashi told Periscope.

Korab Rashit, who is deputy in Switzerland, has said Kurti's disk was “or I, or no one”.

While now, Rashi says the incumbent prime minister is facing democracy.

I don't think it's just political resentment. From what I've observed over a decade, following the disk of the Vetevendosje Movement and especially Albin Kurti, the problem lies with a permanent approach of black and white division: “or I, or no one”, “against all”. Now, he is facing the reality of a parliamentary democracy where compromise, dialogue and institutional respect should be cultivated steadily and long-term”, he said.

He even says that the VVA president is suffering the populism that he has planted.

“Z. Kurt today is suffering from the populism he has planted for more than ten years on the political scene. He continues to behave stubbornly, but I think there would be much to gain if he would change his approach and arrogance not only for his good as a politician, but above all for the good of the nation, which needs leaders who know how to co-operate” he declared.

This situation should be over, Vjosa Osmani, says Korab Rashit MP in Switzerland.

To put an end to this situation, Rashi says that even Vjosa Osmani is not urgent because she has attention to visiting abroad.

Kosovo is a small state, with a population comparable to the Cyril Canton, but with an economy that is about twenty times smaller. Someone, in a moment, has to end this trapped situation. However, it seems that the President of the Republic, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani, does not feel the urgency of this moment she seems more committed to protocol visits abroad than to managing internal institutional crisis”, he has said of Periscope.

MP Rashit proposes that political parties should split the position by one year, praising it as a way to reduce political tensions.

“An effective solution for Kosovo would be that during a four-year legislature, the four largest parties in the Parliament will split this position for one year, according to their electoral ranking: from the first party to the fourth party. This system would reduce political tensions, promote interparty co-operation and give this position the sense that it actually has an honorary, symbolic role, representing national unity and institutional consensus, and not an executive power post”, the potential among other things.

Periscope has asked Korab Rashit even for a possible new election process, along with local ones.

He claims that if the mayors agreed on this, they will have to take public responsibility even for the president's case.

The voting counting process is professional, fast and impartial, without delay and no doubt about the result;

That, if after the elections political configuration remains unchanged, as is expected with only marginal changes, political leaders give up their positions at the helm of parties to pave the way for a new generation or a new political model; So that these elections are not only local and parliamentary, but general real elections, where the president of the Republic, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani, to advance readiness to submit her mandate to the citizens' assessment, for the sake of institutional and moral responsibility; For political parties to go to the polls with clear coalitions and pre-coupled agreements so that citizens can have a clear picture of what programme and what direction they support with their vote”, MP Rashit said.

In an interview for Periscope, Albanian MP in the Bern Canton in Switzerland also commented on US President Donald Trump's statement.

He said the next four years are crucial to the Kosovo-Serbia conflict.

This, according to Rashit, because Trump wants to become the historic president who brings big deals to the world.

This is exactly the central issue. As I have clearly highlighted during the campaign, these next four years will be crucial to the Kosovo/Serbia file, for the fact that Donald Trump has made it clear that he wants to resolve some of the major international issues to enter history as the American president who brought big deals to the” global scene, MP Rashit has said.

On this issue, Rashi says the Kosovo side should be politically prepared, not one that relies on populism.

“However, Kosovo does not need politicians acting with the mentality “in” in international politics, relying on populism or short-term calculations. Kosovo needs a political class that thinks strategically and long-term, and understands that such issues cannot be used for personal careers. Whatever agreement that happens, if compromises occur, they will be necessary from both sides, from both Serbia and Kosovo. Therefore, it is essential that the Kosovo side be well prepared politically and diplomaticly”, the deputy for Periscope said.

Rashi points out that Kosovo must show maturity and stop personal egos.

The ideal resolution would be a national unity government, where the right people are placed in key positions to cope with this four-year critical period. One must be established for daily political games, because now we are not talking about ordinary elections anymore, but historical consequences that will affect the fate of future generations. It is time to show maturity and stop apprehending the country's future by personal egos and logic “or I, or no one”, said Periscope.
