Air India's 171 flight captain, who crashed last week just seconds after his departure from Ahmedabad, India, managed to steer the plane as far away as possible from a row of palaces just before the crash, causing residents to declare it a hero.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner was flying to London Gatwick when he lost the push. Of the 242 passengers and crew members, only British Vishwashkumar Ramesh survived.

Captain Sumet Sabharwal, an experienced pilot with over 8,200 hours of flight, was in control of the aircraft. He and copilot Clive Kunder issued a distress call, but they had gone a little over a minute before the crash. The plane was heading towards a medical college and a government hospital, as well as a nearby settlement. A few seconds before the crash, the glided, crashed, and exploded after the crash.

Some medical students were killed when parts of the plane hit the dorm. But later, new details of the accident arrived. Residents of nearby buildings claim Captain Sabharwalk is a hero because he fled their homes at the last moment and thus saved even more lives.
Thank Captain Sabharwal, we survived. He's a hero. We're alive because of him. He saw the vegetation-covered area near us and directed the plane there”, Jahanvi Rajput said./Periscopi/
